Mitote's work

Explores the worldview of various ancestral cultures of Mexico’s indigenous peoples, focusing on how they understood and represented duality in nature through concepts such as chaos-order and life-death. Mitote is a creator who fuses ancient traditions with contemporary language, using colorful beings that blend memory and fantasy. His work emphasizes that culture is alive and in constant motion, connecting past and present to look toward the future.

Mitote integrates ritual and ceremonial elements into his works, evoking both abundance and spirituality. Particularly noteworthy is the tiger hunt dance, which is part of Nahuatl culture and reflects the ancestral connection with the jaguar, a sacred symbol in the region.
